  • Age-Related Macular Degeneration – Similarly, you will need to have regular dilated eye exams to detect age-related macular degeneration.
  • Diabetic Retinopathy – If you have diabetes, you will want to make sure that you have annual or bi-annual dilated eye exams because diabetic retinopathy typically does not have any early warning signs either.
  • Retinal Detachment – You will undoubtedly feel this medical emergency if it happens. You will experience flashes of light, floaters, or curtains on your eyes if you experience retinal detachment. Be sure to have someone take you to the doctor immediately if you experience any of these symptoms.
